Cookie Policy
Effective 6 July 2026 · Version 1.1 · Last updated 3 September 2026
Baby Elephant B.V., trading as Aitonomy, explains here how it uses cookies and similar technologies on joinaitonomy.ai and the Aitonomy platform at app.joinaitonomy.ai. This policy explains what cookies are, the limited technologies we use, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Statement, which sets out how we handle personal data more broadly.
At present we take a cookieless approach to the website: we do not place cookies on joinaitonomy.ai. Our analytics is cookieless, functional preferences are stored locally on your device, and any strictly necessary technologies are described below. If we introduce cookies that require consent, we will ask for consent first.
We keep our use of cookies deliberately limited. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell your data. The tools we use are hosted in the European Union, and we do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your device on later visits and as you move between pages. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in comparable ways. Where this policy refers to cookies, it means these technologies too.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary (platform). The Aitonomy platform at app.joinaitonomy.ai uses strictly necessary cookies to sign you in and to protect the sign-in. When you sign in it sets a session cookie that holds your authenticated session, an anti-forgery (CSRF) token cookie, and short-lived cookies during the OAuth or single sign-on flow. These are set with HttpOnly and Secure attributes where applicable, are used only to run and secure the service, and cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in. The website at joinaitonomy.ai does not set cookies.
Preferences. These remember choices you make, such as light or dark mode, so the site behaves the way you left it. The light and dark toggle stores its setting locally on your device.
Analytics and performance. These help us understand how the site is used in aggregate, which pages people visit and where they run into trouble, so we can improve it. We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we self-host on servers in the European Union. It is configured to collect only aggregated, anonymous usage data, with its own product telemetry switched off, so no analytics data leaves our infrastructure or is shared with third parties. Umami is cookieless: it does not set cookies and does not track you across other sites. Because it does not store information on your device, it does not rely on your consent; we use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.
Forms. When you submit a form on the site, your submission is handled by our own contact service and delivered to us by email through our email provider, Scaleway Transactional Email (an EU provider), so we can respond to you. The form itself does not set cookies. See our Privacy Statement and our email provider's own policy for detail.
What we do not use
We do not set advertising or targeting cookies. We do not track you across other sites. We do not use tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you to sell or share for marketing.
Consent
The cookies and storage we use are either strictly necessary to run the service or functional choices you have asked us to remember, and our analytics does not store information on your device. On that basis we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we ever introduce cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we will ask for it before they are used.
Controlling cookies
Most browsers accept cookies by default, and you can remove or block them in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site or platform from working. Guidance is available in the settings or help pages of the common browsers, including Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is always the current one, and the date above shows when it last changed.
