Aitonomy B.V., explains here which cookies and similar technologies it uses on the website at joinaitonomy.ai and on the Aitonomy platform at app.joinaitonomy.ai, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Statement, which sets out how we handle personal data more broadly.
In short: the website does not set any cookies. The platform sets only strictly necessary cookies, to sign you in and to protect the sign-in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell your data. The tools we use for cookies and analytics are hosted in the European Union, and we do not transfer the data described in this policy outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your device on later visits and as you move between pages. Local storage is a similar technology that stores information in your browser. We describe our use of each separately below.
The website (joinaitonomy.ai)
No cookies. The website does not set cookies.
Analytics. We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we self-host on servers in the European Union, to understand in aggregate which pages people visit and where they run into trouble, so we can improve the site. It is configured to collect only aggregated, anonymous usage data, with its own product telemetry switched off, so no analytics data leaves our infrastructure or is shared with third parties. Umami does not set cookies, does not store information on your device and does not track you across other sites. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.
Local storage for your display preference. When you use the light and dark toggle, the site stores your choice in local storage on your device, so the site looks the way you left it. This is not a cookie, it is set only when you use the toggle, and it is used only for that purpose.
Forms. When you submit a form on the site, your submission is handled by our own contact service and delivered to us by email through our email provider, Scaleway Transactional Email (an EU provider), or, if it is unavailable, through our standby email provider listed in our Sub-processors list, so we can respond to you. The form does not set cookies. See our Privacy Statement and our email provider's own policy for detail.
The platform (app.joinaitonomy.ai)
Strictly necessary cookies only. When you sign in, the platform sets a session cookie that holds your authenticated session, an anti-forgery (CSRF) token cookie, and short-lived cookies during the OAuth or single sign-on flow. These are set with HttpOnly and Secure attributes where applicable, are used only to run and secure the service, and cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in. The platform does not set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not use
We do not set advertising or targeting cookies. We do not track you across other sites. We do not use tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you to sell or share for marketing.
Consent
The platform cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service you sign in to, and the local storage on the website is used only to remember a display choice you make. Our analytics does not store information on your device. On that basis we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we ever introduce cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we will ask for it before they are used.
Controlling cookies and local storage
Most browsers accept cookies by default, and you can remove or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking the platform's strictly necessary cookies stops sign-in from working. Guidance is available in the settings or help pages of the common browsers, including Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is always the current one, and the date above shows when it last changed.
